Lightening strikes, kills two brothers in Jos (photos)

It was a tragic day yesterday in Bayan Tasha, Ungwan Rogo, Jos when two members of the same family were killed when lightening struck during the early morning rain.

The siblings, named Salihu Danjuma Ibrahim and Salisu Ibrahim died on the spot when they were electrocuted after a series of bizzare chain reactions occured after the lightening strike.

According to Bello Lukman who shared the tragic news

The lightening caused the 33 Kv high tension wire above to spark, this came with a heavy sound with the wire coming down to the ground. Scared, the two brothers ran out of this closed shop and unfortunately, the wire had caused current to pass through the water. Immediately they stepped out, they were electrocuted and died. They had since been buried according to Islamic rites. May Almighty God forgive them their sins and grant them paradise. Ameen /Amen.

A Husband Has No Right To Have Sex With His Wife When She Says No

There is nowhere in the general definition of rape where it states that rape can only occur outside marriage. Rape is rape! As long as it is a sexual assault which involves penetration against a person without the person's consent... whether within or outside marriage.
I learnt that the Nigerian Law has no provisions for persecution of marital rape criminals. When I sort to read further, it still has to do with beliefs. This is rather appalling, and I find it disturbing that the Nigerian Law uses marriage as a tool to promote rape.
I spoke with a woman in 2013, a total stranger who simply needed someone to talk to. The husband forced himself on her days after she delivered their baby. She had vagina stitches which was yet to heal at the time. The rape resulted in her needing further stitches because of the force. She was so scared to go back home, so she had to run back to be with her mother till she heals.

Nothing was done, the man got away with raping his wife and inflicting injuries on her. Why? Because they are married. More like marriage now gives one immunity against punishment for certain crimes.
In some saner climes somewhere on this same planet, such a man would face charges for rape, sexual assault and grievous bodily harm... maybe amongst others. But in my country, he walks freely because he has a certificate that certifies him "married".
This is an extreme case, I know. But the fact remains that people reserve the right to decide what happens to their bodies, both within and outside marriage. Marriage should not be a license for rape. When and if a man uses his penis to penetrate his wife's vagina without her consent, it is called RAPE! Marriage shouldn't make it any less of a crime than it is.

Heather McIntyre, 41, of Sydney, Australia, was born with congenital cataracts, a condition which caused her to be blind. Shе fоund thе love оf hеr life, аnd ѕhе іѕ managing tо raise а large family wіth thе hеlр оf twо guide dogs аnd gadgets lіkе а braille oven.

McIntyre, whо іѕ thе proud mother оf 10 children, ѕаіd thаt ѕhе wаѕ 19 years оld whеn ѕhе met hеr husband thrоugh hеr job аѕ а telemarketer, whісh іѕ а “typical blind person job.” Hеr husband nоw supports thе family frоm hіѕ work аѕ а personal trainer, McIntyre said.

McIntyre аnd hеr husband Garry, 56, gоt married in 1995 аftеr dating fоr ѕіx months аnd thеу wеnt оn tо hаvе 10 children together, Kurt, 20, Sebastian, 19, Jacqueline, 16, Kirima, 13, twins Lance аnd Quillan, 11, Quintessa, 8, Jacinta, 5, Arnold, four, аnd Myfawny, whо іѕ оnlу 15 months old.

“When the kids are little I’d have bells on their socks or those little rattle bracelets you can get so I could hear where they were,” Mrs McIntyre said.

“I help them with their homework, which is done in braille.

Angry Blog Reader Blasts Ike Ekweremadu. Calls Him a Hypocrite (Photos)

When I first saw this photo, I recognized Saraki but had a very difficult time figuring out who the other man was. It was my friend who guessed that it may be Mr Ike Ekweremmadu, Sincve he was in court with Saraki to face criminal charges. I was Shocked because I didnt recognize the man. Have you ever seen Ike Ekweremadu wear this attire to the Red chamber? Please remind me if he has, maybe I've forgotten.
Simply because he's having a forgery case with his Boss, he wore this to court today to attract Igbo ethnic sympathy and create disaffection between tribes.

Why didn't he wear this to the Senate chambers all this years? Why didnt he announce his igboness all this while. Why wait for year to adorn this attire. Other politicians including Saraki has always dressed to represent his people but Ekweremadu has always been on suit even on traditional ceremonies which he attended.

I am sad. Sad at Nigeria, Sad at Ekweremmadu and sad at his hypocrisy. In civilized climes, he would have resigned. David Cameron resigned few days ago because of BREXIT not even a personal corruption charge but here in this country, Serving public officers attend court rooms to answer corruption, fraud, forgery and bribery scandals. Our senate president and his vice are in the dock and still glued to power. What a shame

As for Mr Ekweremmadu, I want to inform every igboman and indeed all Nigerias to ignore this Ekweremmadu man. He simply wants to whip up ethnic sentiments and pitch tribe against another. if not why did he suddenly remember his igboness and his Igbo regalia once persecuted. Deputy senate president for 9yrs and what happened to Enugu Onitsha expressway?

My Name is Ayo and I am always high on weed. I dont have a job so after job hunting, I spend the rest of the day with Sk. So few days ago I was hanging out alone in a bush smoking some hard weed at around 11pm.
I decided to leave for my house but no taxi on that route at that time of the night, so i started recalling old comedies and started laughing on ma own and i also decided to hitch a ride home if possible. It started raining heavily and suddenly a range rover jeep stopped by my side. I quickly jumped into the passengers side and closed the door then the car started moving, and just when I was about to say thank you to the driver, I discovered there was no one in the car. I started to freak out but was too scared to jump out of a moving vehicle.

When the car got to a bend, a hand came in through the driver's window and turned the steering wheel. This happened twice and on the third time I totally freaked out, jumped out of the car screaming and landed in a ditch full of rain water. I got up and ran for my dear life and entered the nearest bar I found. After downing 4 bottles of Odeku and narrating my ghost story to anyone who cared to listen, three guys just walked into the same bar all drenched in rain water.
One of them pointed at me and said, "isn't that the mad man who entered the car while we were pushing it"?

As I am writing this, I am high so I dont know is this is a true story or the effect of the weed is making me hallucinate. Thank you and please stay away from Ganja

India girl who took first in an exam sent to jail for cheating after she failed a re-sit

Ruby Rai, 17, ranked first in the Bihar state exams - but said in a video interview she said that her main subject, political science, was about cooking. She also spelled 'Political Science' as 'Prodigal Science.' After the video went viral, she was made to re-sit her exams, and was arrested after she failed and had her original results cancelled.

She was produced in court, yesterday, where a magistrate sent her to jail until 8 July. Examiners who retested Ms Rai told reporters they were "shocked" by her performance. When asked to write an essay about the Indian poet Tulsidas, she only wrote "Tulsidas ji pranam (Salutations to Tulsidas).

Earlier in the tournament, The Germany manager disgusted viewers worldwide when he was caught on camera putting his hands down his trousers and buttocks, and then sniffing his finger. Court orders Gov. Ikpeazu of Abia state to vacate office

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria to cede the certificate of return to the opponent of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state as he was never qualified to run for the party primaries in the People's Democratic party as a guber candidate.

The judge also ordered the Chief Judge of the state to swear in, Uche Ogah, his opponent in the Decmeber 2014 gubernatorial election in state as the substantive governor og Abia state. the judge ruled that on the account of fake tax returns during the primaries, Dr. Ikpeazu was never qualified to run in the primaries.

See the unbelivable list of 29 luxury properties seized for 3 Air Chiefs; Amosu, Gbadebo & Adigun

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission seized 29 properties from three retired Air Force Chiefs ( Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun and Air Commodore Olugbenga Gbadebo) who will be arraigned for stealing this week.

According to Punch, the siezed properties included three plazas, six mansions, a quarry, a hospital, a block of flats, animal farms, a school, two hotels, some uncompleted buildings and some parcels of land.

The seized properties, mostly acquired in 2014, were 11 for Amosu, 12 for Adigun and 6 for Gbadebo.
They are accused of stealing N21.467 billion.

Below are some of the properties :

Amosu has returned N2.3 billion. Properties seized from Amosu are :

$2.15 million Hospital in Ikeja
N95 million house in Abuja

Properties seized from Adigun worth N9.6 billion are :

Shopping plaza worth N980 million
Mansion worth N450 million
Another N710 million mansion
4 terrace unit worth N720 million
35 room hotel (uncompleted)
Land in Ikoyi
N1.8 billion service flats
$694,000 quarry

For Gbadebo, the properties seized are :

N10 million fish farm.
N20 million poultry, located at Musa Close, Oyibo Ayobu, Lagos.
Bloomsville International School, Divine Estate, Isheri-Olofin , off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

A source hinted that, “Adigun spent most of his own share of the money on properties and so we did not recover much cash from him. Amosu, however, returned over N2.3bn and raised two bank drafts.”

Oritsefemi gets former manager, Danku arrested for impersonation, theft and conspiracy

2016 has been a year of celebrity scandals.

Tthe Lagos state police command stormed the Muson Centre, Onikan, to arrest Oritsefemi’s former manager, Yusuf Adepitan, also known as Danku.

According to the NET, the arrest took place on the red carpet of the comedy concert Pencil Unbroken which held yesterday night at the Muson centre and industry sources confirm Oritsefemi is behind the arrest.

The arrest is by all accounts linked to his beef with Danku which started last year. “It was like a Hollywood movie, they just stormed the red carpet and whisked him away” said an eyewitness.

They further said: ‘After months of hide and seek, the long arm of the law caught up with Danku last night and he had no hiding place. He was picked up by officers of the Nigerian Police force at the Muson centre on the red carpet of Pencil Unbroken event for theft, conspiracy and impersonation’.

The relationship between Oritesefemi and Danku started going south in 2014 after the singer accused Danku of stealing money from him and also claiming ownership of his MSN record label. In January, the 31-year-old singer threatened to arrest Danku and his mother for conspiring against him and making threats to his life, but this arrest did not happen until yesterday.

Danku is said to have since been taken to Zone 2, Police command in Onikan, Lagos.

In Kwara, stealing cooked food on fire is now the order of the day

Amidst the stinging hardship occasioned by the present economic recession in the country, the spate of insecurity is rising and taking a tinge of the ridiculous by the day.

In Kwara State, cooking a pot of soup is now an invitation to robbers, as cases of eagle-eyed hungry men absconding with cooked food still on the fire is now a daily occurrence.

The incident is widespread in areas without perimeter fencing and among women who cook or have opted to cook with coal pots. At each of such areas such as Tanke, Basin, Sango, Offa Garage, and Kilanko, the incident according to The Guardian investigations occurred over five times in just a week.

According to Alhaja Hamidalat Olawale at Sango, “I was cooking around 5.00p.m. in readiness for the breaking of the fast for the day. It was beans and I decided to use coal pot at the open backyard. I had added all the food condiments and was waiting for the broth to dry up. But to my greatest surprise, I did not see the pot of the beans again.

“I was shocked discovering this. What amazed me was that the thief did not come for it before it was ready; he or she came when the food was ready and we were already salivating, meaning the person must have been closely monitoring me.”

Another victim, an undergraduate of the University of Ilorin, Anita Bazuaye, said it was her pot of soup that disappeared beside her window.

“It was painful because as a student, it was difficult for me to get money again for another soup. In fact, when I managed to start cooking again, I did not leave the place until I had securely packed the pot inside my room.”

Reacting to the development, the Police spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi (ASP), said no formal report to that effect had come to him or anyone within the state command, but warned that “it is a serious matter and we will not take it lightly with anyone caught in the act. The Penal Code frowns at theft and we will treat anyone in the act accordingly.”

A former chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, Emmanuel Ayeoribe, said the development could not be divorced from the non-payment of workers’ salaries.

“If nothing is urgently done to commence regular payment of salaries, very soon, people will start leaping over the fence to steal food, not just from unfenced quarters,” he warned.

Pope Francis apologises to gay people, says the Catholic Church must seek forgiveness

The Pope made the groundbreaking apology on his way back from Armenia Sunday as he spoke to reporters on his plane.

One of them asked if Francis agreed with one of his top advisers, who said after the Orlando, Florida massacre that the Church should seek forgiveness from gay people for having marginalized them.

Francis recalled Church teachings that homosexuals 'should not be discriminated against' but should be treated with respect and 'accompanied pastorally'.

Francis said Sunday: 'I think that the Church not only should apologize [...] to a gay person whom it offended but it must also apologize to the poor as well, to the women who have been exploited, to children who have been exploited by being forced to work. It must apologize for having blessed so many weapons.'

The Church teaches that homosexual tendencies are not sinful but homosexual acts are, and that homosexuals should try to be chaste.

'The questions is: if a person who has that condition, who has good will, and who looks for God, who are we to judge?' he asked.

'We Christians have to apologize for so many things, not just for this,' Francis added, referring to the treatment of gay people.

'But we must ask for forgiveness, not just apologize! Forgiveness! Lord, it is a word we forget so often!'

Photos: Saraki's security aides allegedly use gun butts to attack, molest journalists in court

Pandemonium broke out on Monday morning at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, when security details attached to the office of the Senate President Bukola Saraki assaulted journalists covering the trial with gun butts.

Sahara Reporters reports that trouble started when Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, his deputy, arrived the court with a retinue of security operatives, who stationed themselves at the entrance of court and threatened to shoot photojournalists and television cameramen.

The camera operators and photojournalists maintained that they wanted to take cutaway clips to enable them to establish their story before the start of the court sitting. The security aides rejected the explanation of the journalists and attacked them with gun butts.

UK based Nigerian pastor jailed 9-years in Britain's biggest ever education scam (pics)

A Nigerian, London-based Pastor and accountant, Sam Kayode has been jailed for nine years for stealing £4.1million of British taxpayers’ money and lavishing it on four women. The 59-year-old time a part-time pastor spent the cash on his real wife, a second ‘wife’ and two alleged mistresses.

He bought luxury cars including a Mercedes, an Audi TT sports car and an Infiniti, and is also feared to have sent much of the money to Nigeria.

Kayode blamed the theft on his late wife Grace and an office junior. He claimed they conspired to smear him by transferring the money to his joint account in revenge for his adultery. Kayode spent seven years looting the accounts of Haberdashers’ Aske’s state schools in south London, now an academy chain acclaimed by the Government.

During those years no questions were asked about the secretive man who locked himself in his office to work late, after arriving in a Mercedes, wearing £500 Gucci shoes and carrying a Louis Vuitton briefcase.

His boss, chief financial officer Paul Durgan, failed to notice a penny missing. He was often lecturing other schools about how to run their finances, while Kayode was transferring school money into his own bank account.

As well as spending money on his real wife Grace’s private health care – until her death aged 53, in 2013 – he also signed documents showing he was making investments with Miss Halima, and renting flats in Kent for ‘partners’ Toyin Lawal and Yetunde Turtak.
